Here are some "tips" for classes and the studio...
~Pawtuxet Village is a lively area, especially in warmer months, you may find on street parking, many folks use the bank after hours, and there is a small lot on Commercial Street (behind studio) which is public.
~ Please do not park in the small lot at studio during business hours 9-5. That is a shared lot.In Evening classes the lot is available for use.
~When you enter the building, through the side door, come up the stairs and look for the bright colored doors for Essence Yoga. First floor is Follow your Arrow Nutrition, and their entrance is a separate entrance.
~If you are there for Yoga please leave your shoes in the hall...attempting to leave our limitations at the door and enter with the "beginner's mind".
~At the end of class the hallway can become a social hub, make plans with a fellow Yogi and try a local restaurant.
~Be conscious of the noise level, there may be a class in session upon arrival.
~Try to arrive 10 minutes early...give yourself time without the rush.
~We recommend you have your own Yoga mat, but feel free to borrow an Essence mat until you do. Deb's preference in Yoga mats is Jade! It is made of rubber, non slip and comes in longer lengths.
~It is recommended not to eat for 2 hours before Yoga practice...for some of us it's one hour...but eating directly before should be avoided.
~Feel free to use our bathroom outside the studio to change if needed.
~Wear comfortable clothing.
~If you tend to sweat bring a hand towel (it's OK to sweat, it aids in purification...but wiping your hands or face can help with a slippery mat)
~No perfumes please, but deodorant is OK!
~Listen to your body, pushing beyond comfort is not part of any practice. Remember Yoga is NOT a competition.
~Water available $1.00
Always let your teacher know if you have any injuries or health conditions.
